You are warmly invited to join us for a Laternenfest to celebrate Sankt Martin - an evening of light, song, and community spirit!
Date: Sunday, November 8, 2026 from 5-7 pm
Location: Christ Church Community Hall, upper level, 61 Dundas Street, Dartmouth
Potluck Gathering, Pretzels & Fruit Punch
Please bring a favourite dish to contribute. As part of our ongoing support for our school library, we invite you to a refreshing glass of warm German style fruit punch and a pretzel in exchange for a small cash donation (cash only please). All proceeds will go toward enriching our library collection.
Sankt Martin Play
Enjoy a performance of the Story of Sankt Martin, presented by some of our students.

As night falls, we’ll light our lanterns and walk together to the Dartmouth Commons. Please bring your lantern.
German Book/Game Exchange
Bring a German language book or game for a fun exchange. Books and games for all ages are welcomed.
Giving Back
There will also be an opportunity to donate food and personal care items to the Christ Church Food Bank. Items in need at this time include: canned milk, Nescafe instant coffee, and grocery store gift cards in small amounts ($10).

Welcome to German Heritage Language School! New classes are starting in September and are held on Thursdays at Hydrostone Academy 5450 Russell Street, Halifax for School year 2026/2027. Please visit our program page for more information about classes and fees. Registration is open in July!
