Mission Statement
The German Heritage Language School is a registered charity located in Halifax offering German language classes once a week to adults and children. The School fosters the learning of the German language and promotes an understanding of the important role that German speaking cultures, including Switzerland, Austria and Germany have played and continue to play in Nova Scotia’s Heritage. Our inclusive educational setting benefits students of all ages and cultures. New members of the Association are always welcome. Any adult enrolled in the courses, any staff employed by the School and any parent of underage students automatically become members of the German Heritage Language School Association of Nova Scotia, as do supporters of the School's annual fund-raising drive.

Learn German
Welcome to German Heritage Language School! New classes are starting in September and are held on Thursdays. As public health guidelines evolve and the pandemic recedes, we do look forward to a return to in person learning at Shambhala School, 5450 Russell Street, Halifax for School year 2023/2024. Please visit our program page for more information about classes and fees. Registration is open in August!
